THORENS TD 204 turntable

The THORENS TD 204 was developed for the audiophile beginner. A record player with sound expansion potential for the up-and-comer.
The surface finishes "black high-gloss" and "walnut high-gloss", with the typical THORENS design, fit seamlessly into the existing range. The brand identity is underlined by the high quality of workmanship and guarantees a long service life for all Thorens turntables.

The newly developed TP 120 tonearm impresses with its high-quality bearing technology. The bearing play and the friction coefficients could be reduced to an astonishingly low level for the price class by using modern bearings. The TP 120 is a real 9" aluminium tonearm in J-shape with an effective tonearm mass of just over 15 grams. The visual relationship to the larger TP 150 and TP 124 models is unmistakable and leads one to expect first-class features.

The detachable headshell with SME connector is fitted with an AT95E from the Japanese pick-up specialist Audio Technica. Skating compensation is achieved by means of a spring.

The connection terminal on the back shows high-quality RCA cinch sockets for a solid connection to the amplifier.

An integrated (switchable on/off) phono pre allows direct connection to a high level input.

The precision die-cast aluminum turntable is driven in rotation by a precision-ground drive belt. The frame of the Thorens TD 204 turntable rests on four vibration-damping feet.
