Thorens - New Reference Collection | U-HQCD

More than two years have passed since the last Thorens compilation, and Thorens has not been idle in the meantime.

The TD124, to which ‘Tribute To A Legend’ was dedicated, continues to enjoy great popularity. With the ‘New Reference’, Thorens has turned its attention to a project close to its heart. The most elaborate turntable in Thorens' history is intended to provide a deeper, more precise insight into new and old records with new technologies used for the first time in the hi-fi sector.

A time span of around 60 years is represented on this double album: The oldest productions were made in 1960, at the beginning of the stereo era. The most recent ones only a few years ago. When selecting the titles, Thorens once again rummaged extensively through his private vinyl collection, combining old favourites and more recent listening test highlights to create a very personal, but also consensual mix: a certain penchant for soul cannot be ignored.
