The band`s success is very much linked to one name: that of mentor, manager, producer and songwriter Buck Ram. After the Platters' switch to Mercury Records and their first chart placement with Only You, the five vocal talents landed one hit after another. This compilation contains twelve of the band's biggest hits, including the classics Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, The Great Pretender and Twilight Time.

This CD is part of a series of Universal Music K2 HD productions made at the behest of the national company in Hong Kong. This national company distributes FIM productions in Hong Kong and was itself surprised by the enormous success of the FIM K2 HD discs, as such expensive products cannot otherwise be sold in large quantities. Therefore, some enormously popular productions were reworked by Hakamata Takeshi, who is also responsible for the FIM productions as a mastering engineer, at the JVC FLAIR Studio in Tokyo. The K2 HDs are manufactured by Memory Tech in Japan and come in a beautifully designed hardcover booklet similar to the FIM productions. The CDs are also protected once again in a fleece sleeve, as with FIM.
