HiFi systems increasingly require access to the home network. Be it Internet access to music services or the integration of server and/or NAS systems. This type of integration is a major challenge. An electrical connection to the digital world has in almost all cases caused the music lover a significant deterioration in sound. Additional ground connections as well as high and low frequency interference have crept in and reduced the sound quality. WLAN is also not an interference-free solution, as the highly staggered radio signals strongly impair playback. With the network isolator of PHONOSOPHIE you prevent this loss of performance of your stereo system.

PHONOSOPHIE network isolators galvanically interrupt any conductive connection (wires and shield) between devices that are connected to each other via copper-guided Ethernet cabling. They prevent potential equalization currents and protect connected devices and their users from transient overvoltages that have been coupled directly or inductively into the network cable due to installation errors, lightning, switching processes, electrostatic discharges, etc..

The PHONOSOPHIE network isolator is a powerful and compact gigabit network isolator characterized by excellent Ethernet performance and very high dielectric strength. Its equipment is supplemented by a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode circuit. While conventional insulators can only stop voltage peaks that occur at the same level on all signal wires, e.g. due to potential differences, the TVS diode circuit also cuts differential signal levels on a pair of wires, which could pass through the transformer unimpeded without this circuit and endanger users, devices and the sound. Such differential voltage peaks can also occur due to malfunctions of connected devices or electrostatic discharges during the plugging process.

Low-frequency signal components are strongly attenuated by the PHONOSOPHIE network isolator, so that connected devices are protected from ground loops. The PHONOSOPHIE network isolator transmits high-frequency AC voltages (Ethernet useful signal) according to the principle of electromagnetic induction in the frequency range used for data transmission. Due to this transmission principle, no separate power supply is required. An installation of drivers is not necessary.

The PHONOSPHIE network isolator meets the highest demands. It meets all requirements of the European standard IEC 60601-1 and may even be used in medical areas or hospitals.
