Ferrite core coils with self bonding wire BHPGR 40
With our new high-performance ferrite material HP 3616 we meet the demands of many users for an inexpensive and at the same time highly stressable ferrite material. The mechanical advantages of these relatively small coils are obvious. However, it was the new HP 3616 material that made the decision to include a ferrite core in our product range portable. In terms of load capacity, this material, which is manufactured in Germany, differs significantly from the frequently used, inexpensive Far East cores. The HP series combines favourable electrical and mechanical data with relatively low unit costs.
VAKUUMBRÄNKEN & BACKLACKWIRE
In non-impregnated coils, the current flowing through the coil causes the winding to vibrate. The microphonic effect, i.e. the conversion of mechanical vibrations into electrical ones, adds these vibrations to the original signal again as additional information. In this way, details of the original signal are superimposed and made unrecognizable. The music loses spatiality and transparency. This process is prevented by vacuum impregnation in the following way:
In vacuum impregnation, the coil is first impregnated with a special lacquer under vacuum. This lacquer flows through the vacuum right into the very inner windings. The lacquer is then dried in an oven at 130* Celsius. In this way the whole coil is baked into a very solid unit. This prevents the individual windings from oscillating and the original signal remains unaltered.
Vacuum impregnation thus protects musical subtleties, giving the music natural liveliness and excellent spatiality. It is therefore an important component of truly audiophile music reproduction.
Baked enamel wire coils are made from a special wire. An additional lacquer layer on this wire is briefly melted after winding. When it cools down, this lacquer perfectly sticks the individual windings together. The effect is comparable to vacuum impregnation, but the process is less expensive for small coils.
