The Air Helix construction of the Reference Digital-2404 is absolutely unique. To get as close as possible to the perfect air insulation, we have developed a special clip. Inside the cable, a large number of these clips form the supporting structure, which keeps the signal conductors helically free in the air and guides them through the shielding at a defined distance. The flexibility of this construction is achieved by two bars which hold the clips together and precisely at a distance. With coaxial cables, the shielding is usually used as the ground conductor at the same time. The Reference Digital 2404, on the other hand, is double balanced and has two plus and two minus conductors. Thus the shielding is completely separated and the signal remains free of interference. Even if it may seem paradoxical: Thanks to the innovative air insulation, High Fidelity becomes a simply breathtaking sound experience with this cable.

Air Helix-Construction
Air is still the best insulator for cables. It allows low capacities and low losses. With the Air Helix construction of the Digital 2404 reference, we are closer than ever to pure air insulation. Just as important as the insulation is a homogeneous structure. This means that the conductors and the shielding must maintain exactly defined distances from each other. In order to meet these requirements, we have developed a special clip. Several of these clips are lined up inside the cable to form the supporting structure. The Super Speed waveguides are threaded by hand and the clips assembled with great care in our in-house factory. Subsequently, the resulting air helix also receives its shielding and the PE network jacket by hand. Finally, the rhodium-coated plugs are mounted and the function of the cable is tested.

Super Speed Conductor
Of course, the ladder itself also plays an important role. In the Digital 2404, they consist of 32 high-purity copper wires braided onto a PE core. This extremely reduces the longitudinal inductance. A wafer-thin varnish layer on the wires prevents eddy currents between the wires. A conductor that can also transmit extremely dynamic signal sequences very quickly and precisely.

We have always set the bar very high in terms of quality. Because cables and connections are extremely sensitive. Physical phenomena that occur during the transmission of signals can only be controlled with technical finesse and the best materials. For this reason, all cables are manufactured in a German cable factory and assembled by us in Ballrechten-Dottingen in elaborate manual work.
