audioquest ThunderBird 48 HDMI cable with 10% silver content in the signal conductor
- All models use Solid Signal and Ground-Reference Conductors.
- All 19 conductors (A/V, eARC, Ground-Reference Drains, Control, Power) are Direction-Controlled.
- AudioQuest "48" HDMI cables have the bandwidth required for video with resolutions up to 10K, resolutions/refresh rates up to 8K/60 and 4K/120.
ThunderBird 48 HDMI cable features high purity solid 10% Silver conductors and Level 6 noise reduction for the most efficient rejection of RF noise.
Sound first. While 8K and other exciting video and gaming features dominate the HDMI headlines, we at AudioQuest have created our best sounding HDMI cables yet with the 48 and eARC Priority Series HDMI cables.
The greater precision and tighter manufacturing tolerances required to produce HDMI cables with up to 48 Gbps bandwidth make AudioQuest's proven components and techniques even more important than ever.
The ThunderBird 48 uses silver-plated copper conductors with 10% silver content and drains that are directional for the best possible dissipation of high frequency noise. Lossy graphene is added to the carbon layer arranged around the 4 FRL + eARC pairs and placed between metal layers, and all conductors are surrounded by a ‘global’ lossy carbon layer.
48 Gbps Bandwidth
AudioQuest ‘48’ HDMI cables can transmit up to professional 10K Ultra HD videos. The bandwidth of 48 Gbit/s is made possible by 4 symmetrical audio/video pairs with 12 Gbit/s each. The precision and tighter manufacturing tolerances required to produce HDMI cables with up to 48 Gbps bandwidth means that many of AudioQuest's proven ingredients and techniques are more important than ever.
8K/10K
10% Silver-plated copper conductors and down conductors (HDMI)
AudioQuest HDMI cables always apply thicker layers of silver to AudioQuest's LGC (Long-Grain Copper) conductors to improve noise cancellation. Placing the high-grade metal on the outside of the conductor provides the greatest benefit to overall performance - a highly cost-effective method of optimising a digital cable. The ThunderBird 48 utilises 10% silver plated copper for both the conductors and the leads.
Noise reduction level 5 (HDMI): Graphene + Global Carbon + Directional control
Conventional ‘100% shielding’ is not enough to prevent the increasingly common effects of Wi-Fi, mobile phone and satellite radiation. In AudioQuest's HDMI cables, all 19 conductors are directionally controlled to minimise the RF noise that degrades performance by ‘steering’ it away from the most vulnerable circuits. Level 5 noise cancellation adds lossy graphene to the carbon layer located between the metal layers around the 4 FRL + eARC pairs, and a ‘global’ lossy carbon layer is placed around all conductors.
eARC: 10% Silber + Level-5-Noise attenuation
Because sound is important, the eARC conductors in AudioQuest's 48 Series HDMI cables receive the same love and affection. They feature the same high-quality metals, directional conductors and noise-cancelling technologies as the main AV data pairs. In AudioQuest eARC Priority cables, the main A/V data pairs have cinnamon level performance (Forest 48‘’s solid 0.5% silver + carbon & Vodka 48‘’s level-3 noise cancellation), while the eARC data pair and ground reference drain use the same advanced design ingredients as their ‘48’ counterparts. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) sends audio signals from a TV to a soundbar or AV receiver for greater simplicity and flexibility in system setup. The previous ARC capabilities of the hardware were only sufficient for lossy (compressed) 5.1-channel surround sound. Today's HDMI 2.1 hardware supports enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), which dramatically increases digital bandwidth to support uncompressed and lossless high-resolution multi-channel audio, including Dolby TrueHD and Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS: X.
Limited lifetime warranty
AudioQuest HDMI cables are precision manufactured to ensure a high level of reliability and are backed by a non-transferable, limited lifetime warranty. The original sales receipt is required; additional restrictions apply.
